For most of her career, Kathi has worked in a non-profit/association environment. As a communications officer with the Association of Bay Area Governments, she assisted association officers, supported the legislative committee, handled public affairs, and planned conferences and events. She then worked for an agricultural association as an executive assistant and office manager, with responsibilities in Board and committee relations and support. A graduate of CSU-Stanislaus, Kathi joined the staff of Western United Dairymen in June 2000. Western United Dairymen works to bring funding to the California dairy industry through grants and partnerships. Kathi serves as WUD’s grant writer and administrator and has coordinated grant projects with the California Energy Commission, USDA Rural Development Agency, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and USEPA. Her projects have included a methane digester grant program, a biomethane for transportation fuel feasibility study, a biomethane vehicle conversion project, as well as USDA NRCS Conservation Innovation Grants. Kathi also coordinates the biennial Western Dairy Air Quality Symposium hosted by Western States Dairy Producers Trade Association.
