Former CDFA Secretary Lyons honored by USDA

Former CDFA Secretary Bill Lyons, Jr. was honored recently with an award from USDA for his work in enhancing protection and safety of the nation’s agriculture and foods supply. The award was presented to Lyons at the recent Harvest Luncheon in Modesto by his successor, CDFA Secretary A.G. Kawamura. Kawamura lauded Lyons for his work in establishing animal disease detection systems and commented that his work helped establish a baseline of protection against the current threat from agroterrorism.
