Several USDA Farm Bill sign-up deadlines approaching

Aug. 1, 2008 - - The USDA Farm Service Agency is reminding producers of several approaching deadlines to enroll in new Farm Bill crop, disaster, and insurance programs. The programs and their deadlines are listed below. Contact your local FSA office for more information.
* 2008 Crop and CRP Acreage Reporting: The sign-up deadline is August 15, 2008.
* 2008 Disaster Assistance “Buy-In” Fee: For 2008 crops, producers must submit a “buy-in” fee to assure disaster program eligibility. The buy-in deadline is September 16, 2008.
* 2008 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Payment Program (DCP): The sign-up deadline is September 30, 2008.
