Tail docking bill passes Assembly Appropriations

Aug. 24, 2009 - - Legislation that would end the practice of dairy cattle tail docking, SB135 by Senator Dean Florez (D-Shafter), was approved on Wednesday by the Assembly Appropriations Committee by a 13-to-2 vote. The bill has been approved by the Senate and is now working through the Assembly where, on July 1, it moved out of the Ag Committee on a 6-to-1 vote.
