The state’s new sick leave law took effect Jan. 1, 2015, however, the right to accrue and take sick leave under this law does not take effect until July 1, 2015. The new law requires most employers to allow employees to accrue up to three days of paid sick leave per year based on an accrual of at least one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. There are many more details of the new law and its implementation that are unclear to employers.
